Jan 26, 2010, Singapore Food & Beverage: Chicken Rice
Every visitor to Singapore should try our unofficial national dish: Chicken Rice. I don't mean ordinary chicken rice, but the real good one. Most of our local favourites come from hawker centres, So I will recommend to you two hawker centres where you could try out the dish. Both food centres are located in Chinatown area.
The best chicken rice that I knew of is the Tian Tian Chicken Rice stall located at Maxwell Food Centre. The other more convenient stall located at Chinatown Complex Food Centre is Heng Ji Chicken Rice.
If you have more to spend, you can go to the famous restaurant Chatterbox (Tel: 65-68316288) located at Meritus Mandarin Singapore where the ambience and service are good. The taste is no doubt delicious, so is its price. It costs you about S$25 a plate here as compare to S$3 at Tian Tian or Heng Ji hawker stalls.
Jan 24, 2010, Uniquely Singapore: A Scene of Maxwell Food Centre
Singaporeans are obsessed with eating. Why do I say so? Watch the below video clip or click here to see what I mean.
For more information about our local favourites, go to Singapore local or Hawker Food page.
